Roberto Riccardi

The brigadier general, born in Bari, Italy, lives in Rome and currently commands the Carabinieri’s special unit for the protection of cultural heritage (Il Comando Carabinieri Tutela Patrimonio Culturale). He graduated in law, internal and external security, as well as mediation, negotiation and conciliation, and public management and social communication. He was commander of Carabinieri units in several cities, including Sicily and Calabria, where he carried out tasks in the field of combating organized and drug crime. He participated in NATO peacekeeping missions in Bosnia and Kosovo. He was press spokesman and head of the press office of the Carabinieri Command in Rome, as well as editor-in-chief of the monthly „Il Carabiniere”. Participated in working groups within EU OLAF (European Anti-Fraud Office) and EUROPOL (European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Law Enforcement Agencies). Privately, he is a writer and journalist, author of several books (history, crime novels and novels), including award-winning ones and those translated into foreign languages.
