The Publishing Council operates under the Regulations of the University of Gdańsk Publishing House. The Publishing Council operates under the Regulations of the University of Gdańsk Publishing House.
The competences and principles of appointing the Publishing Council are regulated by § 3 of the Regulations of the University of Gdańsk Publishing House, according to which:
- The competences of the Publishing Council include:
- providing opinions on annual publishing plans;
- providing opinions on the Director’s reports on the Publishing House’s activities;
- shaping publishing policy and establishing strategic directions of the Publishing House’s activities.
- The Publishing Council is appointed by the Rector for the term of office of the authorities of the University of Gdańsk. The Council is composed of a representative of each faculty, designated by the dean, who holds at least a doctoral degree.
- The Publishing Board shall elect a chairman from among its members at its first meeting.
- The currently operating Publishing Council was established pursuant to Order No. 19/R/25 of the Rector of the University of Gdańsk of February 7, 2025.
