Professor of sociology, director of the Institute of Sociology and Chairman of the Council of Disciplines of Sociological Sciences at the University of Gdańsk. His scientific interests focus on the sociology of sports, football studies, and issues related to masculinity. He is a recipient of the UEFA Research Grant Programme. His publications have appeared in international journals, e.g. „International Review for the Sociology of Sport”, „Sport in Society”, „Soccer & Society”, „Sociology of Sport Journal”. Recently, his books have been published by publishers such as Manchester University Press, Palgrave and Routledge. He serves as a reviewer for a number of international journals, as well as an expert for international football grants.
