Konrad Wołowski

Professor of biological sciences, specialist phycologist, researcher of algae from various habitats in the field of their taxonomy, biogeography, ecology. It has significant achievements in the study of euglenins (Euglenozoa/Euglenophyta) of Europe and the World. Co-author of a number of studies, including: Freshwater of algal forums of British Isles (2004, 2011), Atlas of Euglenophytes (2005), Taxonomic and environmental studies on Euglenophytes of the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland… (1998), chapters in collective monographs and about two hundred scientific papers. He is currently conducting research on applied phycology and the participation of algae in the structure of biological mats. In the years 2011-2018 he served as director of the W. Szafer Institute of Botany of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Chairman of the Krakow Branch of PTB.
