Doctor of Biological Sciences, specialist in the protection and shaping of the natural environment, biodiversity and the functioning of freshwater and saltwater ecosystems, taxonomy and ecology of algae. Among other things, he has described species and varieties of dinoflagellates (Dinophyceae) from the Tatra Mountains that are new to science. Passionate about outdoor education, leader of scientific and research expeditions (including to Spitsbergen and Ukraine). Director of the Nadnotecki Institute of Adam Mickiewicz University in Piła, Poznań.
