Theatre scholar, habilitated doctor, professor at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Gdańsk, head of the Department of Drama, Theatre and Performances at the Institute of Polish Philology of the University of Gdańsk. In his academic work, he deals with theatre and contemporary drama, and also examines the performing traditions of Southeast Asia from the perspective of anthropology and performance studies.
